Chief Stipe Posted June 9 Posted June 9 From the RIB published accounts the RIB costs $16m per year. From what I can see nearly all of that is funded from Pokies/Gaming. Where does @Comic Dog and others get $30m from? Quote
curious Posted June 9 Posted June 9 It's just under $20m and currently being paid from reserves. Quote
curious Posted June 9 Posted June 9 From TABNZ SOI Racing Integrity Board funding $19.9m; Funding of the Racing Integrity Board from core reserves continues for FY26, allowing the extension of the Racing Rejuvenation Fund at $10.3m from forecast Class 4 net proceeds. The remainder of $2.6m will be available to qualifying entities under our sports authorised purpose. https://cdn.sanity.io/files/3hv6m2p5/production/61d70006fd7fd888c318fbfa24fabf2fb6495557.pdf Quote

The other $11m was for direct costs for compliance activities as well as maintenance costs. So the combined salary cost for NZTR and the RIB is $16m (rounded up). Arguably those RIB costs were split between the 3 racing codes. I don't see much room to move in "slashing personnel costs" other than synchronising rules between the two horses codes and having set penalties. @Comic Dog 1 Quote

There are other labs in NZ capable of doing the testing as well as in OZ. Labs are expensive to maintain and equip especially if you want to keep up with new technology and techniques. Quote
