Blackbookers Te Rapa/Hastings

Recommended Posts

Lets try this

Horses that ran at Te Rapa and Hastings that you feel had next up written all over them, or were unlucky or inconvenienced by the track or whatever.

A bit of a spiel why and try to highlight the horse in bold

I'll pin this thread and see how it all goes

Te Rapa

Platinum Rapper - Race 3. Got well back and made up many lengths in the last 200m. Finished off well first up at Rotorua so I think can win a race at short notice

Adriatic Pearl - Race 5. Crying out for a deep winter track and should get it now. Nearing peak fitness and could surprise at decent eachway odds when she strikes the right surface

Te Rapa

Konstantina

Was in a dream spot behind the leader till half way around the turn, when O'Sam kept laying in on it denying it a run, was eased up to the line. Its way better than that and next up on a wet track would rate a good chance at decent overs.

Socialights - missed the jump and never really clear along the fence in run home. The 2nd horse took a while to make room and Socialights boxed into it well. Next time on a Dead or Good track maybe

Legramor - has been unlucky before but didn't get all favours on Saturday. Settled at the rear on the fence early, but moved out to be behind the bunch on the turn. Was blocked for a run between horses and had to go to the inside and motored home for 5th, beaten two lengths. Matt Cameron rode for the first time and will have learnt from the ride. Might need 1400m next time.

Ended up 16 lengths from the winner Barry, track not wet enough ?

Was checked 3-4 times and Cameron eased it to the line, the distance from winner is irrelevant in this case, other than it boosts its price next start.

Not sure it handled the track, even with clear run

Just remember that Te Rapa has been recently sanded, so anything behind the first few gets a gob full of the stuff.

Watch some of the early replays, there was more sand on the track than Raglan beach.

Jeez BS keep it down re Adriatic Pearl..underrated mare who loves the wet and is quite capable on her day of picking up a big race. Not too far away Te Rapa in a quality field ... I wonder what their plans are for her?
