The Shark heads back to Cambridge Raceway for the second Saturday in a row this time for Waipa Trotting and Pacing Cups Day.

Race 1

8 Military Man: Got it wrong on debut early but was pretty handy afterwards. Clearly can run a bit. Manners here and he’s the one to beat.

9 Rough And Ready: Looked like greenness cost him winning last week. Kept coming right to the line but didn’t really want to extend. Good enough.

7 Sportngoodtime: Very nice introduction to the racing game last week with a solid fourth. Headed in the right direction and won’t be a maiden for too long.

6 Bankers Gold: Plenty of encouraging signs in the debut effort for fourth. Second row didn’t help last week. Good enough to be a player in this.

Selections: 8-9-7-6

Race 2

5 A Better Dancer: Really strong in the last two appearances in the amateur grade and from a handy draw today should be right in the mix again.

3 The Batmobile: Better than the last start effort and might find the markers first here. That could be key, definitely in the mix.

4 Clifton Flutter: Beat most of these last time out to get the chocolates. Likely to get into the right kind of spot here and keep them honest.

8 Vanhalem: Form isn’t too bad when you break it all down. Wide draw to contend with here but best coming off the speed anyway. Have in.

Race 3

3 Hawthornden Hunk: Two excellent runs to open up the career and gets a good draw to work with here today. Won’t die wondering you wouldn’t imagine.

1 Yankee Dancer: Plum draw for a horse in form. Might be on the back of the right horse the whole way and can have the last say at them for sure. ‘

9 Blake: A little more like his true potential last time out. Big effort to run second. Repeat that here and he’s in the mix once again.

8 Flo Ryda: Stable kicking a few goals and a very smart workout win earlier in the week has him a live prospect on debut here today.

Selections: 3-1-9-8

Race 4

4 Veneto: Didn’t get a lot of peace last time out, but was still strong to the line. This is easier and no surprise to see a really positive result here today.

5 Molly Dooker: Overcame a horror draw last time out to produce a very good fourth. Just needs the right kind of run to feature at the business end.

1 Lady Santanna: Excellent effort last time out to finish third and form as a whole looks and reads nicely. Good chance from the ace draw today.

8 Lynton Creek: Just does enough to keep the hook baited most weeks and even from today’s wide draw he’ll offer up a bit of cheek late.

Selections: 4-5-1-8

Race 5

3 Ideal Agent: Smart type who can beat himself at times, but his best is very good. Should land on the speed here and prove hard to catch.

4 Pekeson: New stable, but runs recently have been excellent in good fields. Goes well here too. Has to be a leading chance here.

5 Mac’s Tomado: Not too bad last time out and meets a pretty even field here. Should get handy to the speed and be right there when things heat up.

2 Captain Max: Not much luck last week. Gets on the speed here and with a little more luck could be able to run most of them down.

Selections: 3-4-5-2

Race 6

6 Anna Kate: In great form and went down fighting last week to keep the good record going. Should be on the speed again today and giving them something to chase.

10 Lovely Bundy: Back to 35m after last week’s excellent effort. Beat most of these and did it easy so should be able to deliver once more if things pan out.

9 The Hulk: Brave in defeat last week to continue great run of form at this track. Should get handy to the speed at some point and have a role to play.

5 Aldebaran Bonny: Smart win last time out and no reason why, with the same kind of efforts he can’t be right in the mix again today although in a harder grade.

Selections: 6-10-9-5

Race 7

6 Callie’s Delight: In good form and last run was excellent in strong company. Big chance if she can get onto the speed and give them something to think about.

9 Parker: Good again last week, just had a little too much to do. Can work his way into this though and keep them pretty honest with any luck.

5 Ace Strike: All the form on the board and talented wee pacer with a good record. Dangerous if able to get the right kind of run and have one shot at them.

1 Bugalugs: Can’t fault the recent efforts and was excellent last week when finishing third. Good follower of speed who will be running on again.

Selections: 6-9-5-1

Race 8

6 Anam Nunu: Has a big motor, but a few tricks too. Smart winner of a workout earlier this month and if the best version turns up they might be racing for second.

5 The Blue Beat: Nothing in the luck department last week after a strong win the week prior. Won’t leave things to chance here you’d imagine. Has to be in the mix.

9 Olivia Rachel: Form on the board and the best version would be very hard to beat in this. Tricky draw, but can get right up at them late with the right gaps.

4 Classey Robin: Has compiled a rather solid record in a short career to date and from a decent enough draw should be in the middle of the action again today.

Selections: 6-5-9-4

Race 9

5 Still Eyre: In a race where there isn’t much exposed form it’s hard to go past the ones with some sort of form. Going good in decent fields and does things right. Has to be in.

10 Sunny Pegasus: Best version would eat this field alive, but it can be a bit hit and miss. Fresh up today though so gets a good opportunity to start on the right foot.

2 Buller Whitebait: Brave effort last week again. Will trot onto the speed and give a strong account once more. Could win if left alone.

9 Danke: Hasn’t been too far away recently and you know you’re going to get decent manners and he’ll run on better than most. Have in.
