It’s fair to say that Australian model Rosie Tupper and her husband Sam Margin, lead singer of indie rock band The Rubens, are one of the country's most effortlessly cool couples. As such, it’s no surprise that a brand as classically chic as Longines tapped the pair as ambassadors of the 2019 Longines Golden Slipper. Demonstrating that not only have they mastered the realms of music and modelling, but also fashion; the loved-up couple turned heads as they made their way trackside on Saturday, March 23. Layering a Lillian Khallouf pink tweed dress over a patterned silk shirt, Tupper accessorised her look with a pair of Jimmy Choo pumps and a Nerida Winter hat that sat perfectly atop her new crop. As for Margin, the singer cleaned up well in an MJ Bale suit. “I feel like what I’ve [been] trying and liking more, is more of a shorter sloppy dress, quite loose, not so long, and past the knee,” Tupper told Vogue of her autumn race day ensemble. “A bit more of a straight cut, short cut, but very graceful and elegant.” In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Longines’s iconic brand campaign, 'Elegance is an attitude', Tupper confessed that to her, elegance refers to a look that’s “quite graceful, beautiful, classic but understated – so not too fluffy.” A criteria she also used to judge the Longines Prize for Elegance on the day. As for how the couple’s partnership with the luxury Swiss watchmaker came about, Margin explained that while he and his wife are careful who they align themselves with, with Longines it was “kind of a no-brainer.” “We actually have a history,” he added. “When I first started dating [Rosie], I bought her a vintage Longines watch, so that’s kind of cute as well.” While Margin’s “pretty standard” skincare routine involves a beard trim and a swipe of his wife’s skincare products, Tupper shares she preps her skin with a hydrating mask the night before a big event, confessing she’s all about pared back beauty and fresh, clean skin. If you aren’t yet following Tupper and Margin on social media, then you’d better do so. Because, if their cool, calm demeanour and laid-back aesthetic hasn’t proven convincing enough, then the photos they share of their uber-cute nine-month-old daughter, Mozes Tupper Margin, will surely seal the deal. The couple, who married in an intimate rural wedding in 2018, before welcoming Mosez in August of last year, are now working on balancing their rising stars and climbing careers, with their desire to build a family. “I think I’ve sort of slowly eased back into work, which has been really quite nice,” Tupper told Vogue. “It’s not like going back to an office job, so it kinda works perfectly.” “If opportunities come up that are good for our careers, we’ve got to work out how to make it happen, but there is also a lot of flexibility,” agreed Margin, who added that unless he’s overseas, he “can generally move something around and be there on set looking after Mozes while Rosie’s shooting.” As for what the future looks like for Margin and Tupper? Preparing to leave for an American tour with The Rubens this week, the singer shared that while both he and his wife agree they’d like to continue to grow their little family, they won’t be welcoming a second child just yet.
