A Quality Road filly (hip 232) from the Hill ‘n’ Dale sales Agency consignment flew past the previous session-leading transaction and all the way to $1.5 million Wednesday afternoon. Robby Medina, longtime assistant to Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey and now the general manager of Blackwood Stables, was left holding the ticket when the dust settled on behalf of Joe Allen. Out of G1SW Marvellous (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}); a half to Irish SW/MGSP Fort Myers (War Front); and from the family of Giant’s Causeway and Gleneagles (Ire), the Apr. 29 foal was bred by Orpendale & Chelston & Wynatt.
