Victoria’s elite sprinting brigade are making their presence felt in the Million Dollar Chase series.

Australian Greyhound of the Year Simon Told Helen has qualified for the MDC semi-finals after a clean sweep at Temora (457m) – heat (25.83sec) and final (26.16sec).

Ditto, the explosive Shima Shine – runner-up in last year’s MDC grand final – who was sensational in his near-record heat win (25.82sec), followed by a 25.87sec final victory at Bulli (472m).

And tomorrow night, they should be joined by champion counterpart Tiggerlong Tonk who competes in an MDC quarter-final at Wagga (525m) – Race 7 Box 6 at 8.38pm.

Tiggerlong Tonk won last week’s sole heat by eight and a half lengths in 30.00sec and backs up against the same rivals. He’s also won seven of his past 10 starts and has been out of the placings only once in his last 18 starts.

Meanwhile, Andrea Dailly-trained kennelmates Gladioli Bale (Box 7) and Faithy Bale (Box 8), along with Waging War (Box 1), are engaged in an MDC regional final at Richmond (535m) tomorrow night – Race 9 at 9.42pm.

And Fire Legend has reached an MDC quarter-final at Maitland (450m) on Monday courtesy of a heat win in 24.88sec (Best).

The MDC semi-finals will be held at Wentworth Park on October 9, with the $1 million-to-the-winner final – the world’s richest greyhound race – also at ‘Wenty’ a week later.

Pawnote: Five Victorians also raced at Wentworth Park last night in preparation for the Million Dollar Chase ‘City Preludes’ on October 3.
Dark Jedi (Matt Lanigan) and Arizona Eyes (Rob Britton) finished second and fourth respectively in a 3rd/4th Grade (520m).
While Wallbanger (Angela Langton) and Mepunga Pegasus (Jeff Britton) finished first and second respectively, with Origami Angel (Matt Lanigan) eighth, in a Free For All (520m). Wallbanger clocked a smart 29.88sec.
