Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 17, 2022 Journalists Share Posted September 17, 2022 Justifying his 4-5 favoritism, LOGGINS (c, 2, Ghostzapper–Beyond Blame, by Blame) cruised home much the best to earn 'TDN Rising Star' honors Saturday at Churchill Downs. Away in good order from a middle gate in a field of twelve, the bay got shuffled back up the straightaway and raced between rivals in a tightly grouped bunch into the far turn. Second in a five-wide line around the turn, Loggins took control under his own power with a three-wide move past the quarter pole to strike the front. In a one-horse race from there, he came home in total command to clear the field by daylight under a hand ride. Easy Action (Speightstown) was the best of the rest in second. The final time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:15.87. 5th-Churchill Downs, $113,250, Msw, 9-17, 2yo, 6 1/2f, 1:15.87, ft, 8 1/2 lengths.LOGGINS, c, 2, by Ghostzapper 1st Dam: Beyond Blame (GSW, $238,630), by Blame 2nd Dam: Quippery, by Forest Wildcat 3rd Dam: Habiboo, by Unbridled's Song Sales history: $460,000 Ylg '21 FTSAUG.
