The Central Districts meeting in New Zealand on Saturday is be held at Wanganui with an eight-race card set down for decision. The track is rated in the Heavy range and should remain that way with showers anticipated in the immediate forecast. The first race begins at 12:02pm (NZST).

Best Bet: Justaskme

The co-feature of the day is over the mile at weight-for-age level and has attracted only six runners. At the top of the page, Justaskme made his characteristically slow start last time out at Awapuni before unleashing with a sustained run around his opposition from the half-mile and then going on to win untouched by over five lengths, easing down. He is still on the up and meets a somewhat easier field here on even terms. He has ticked a lot of boxes and should be too good again.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Justaskme silk#1 Justaskme (1)

7yo Gelding | T: Allan Sharrock | J: Johnathan Parkes (59kg)

$1.95 with Neds

Best Value: Hot Pinx

The value bet comes up early at Wanganui in the form of Hot Pinx, who is making a fresh start after being spelled over the summer months. She has won in these conditions previously and has had a tune-up when running a place at a recent trial. Her best form has come on Heavy tracks and it is encouraging to see Craig Grylls sticking with her after riding her in the trial. The Andrew Forsman stable is running hot and she could be one to get under the early guard of punters.

Best Value

Race 2 – Hot Pinx silk#5 Hot Pinx (9)

5yo Mare | T: Andrew Forsman | J: Craig Grylls (57kg)

$11 with Betfair
