  1. Sorry I've  been off line.

You can't trust hrnz to make any right decisions, they are actually bunch of clowns.  The owners have to do it themselves. I've stopped pretty much breeding etc because I did what I wanted by breeding a group 1 winner.  I spent a lot of money to achieve my goal so I only have a share in one horse now.

People like Hamish Scott are the people we need,  he puts plenty in.  And deserves everything that comes his way.  Put the money in the bank,  because hrnz will blow it.

  2. Vets used to do contracts. The more mares the  cheaper. The joint where I kept my mares coordinated until positive scan. I couldn't afford the best but went to the proven ones. Live or die was one like that.  3k fee from memory. 20years ago.

collonial stallions would have to be well proven before I'd touch. I got caught out by a trainer who I trusted buying a deal direct yearling.  a total flop. I never did that again.

Kowhitirangi.  I think you'll find the pub was the Kokatahi Hotel in Kokatahi.  My family were the first settlers in the area - hence having a mountain named after us.

The Kokatahi Hotel not to be confused with the Longford.

Nelson has always boxed above it's weight in all sports. Pardon the pun but Jeff Rackley another example of that. Great boxer in his day. I come from a well known sporting family. My dad was known all over NZ. When we moved back to Nelson in 2022, a neighbour asked my surname. He asked if I was any relation. I said yes, he's my dad. He then went on to tell me about a sporting action of my dad's that he witnessed in 1974 and how it was the best sporting moment he'd ever seen. I was tickled pink

I knew jock when he had the pub on coast. Think it was kowherangi?  Inland from hoki. I was a regular on the coast plying my trade.

  6. All I can add is  r.  Close is a very good driver and judge of pace.  He would have been told to give it a quiet run.  It goes on a lot. A trainer I had a horse with trained a few outsiders as well.  This one horse he told me not to back it as they were going for a "red type run" the following start.  Sure enough average run but when he took it to Winton won easily.  I collected a small fortune.  She paid $28.

I wish we could all just wait for the facts of the case to emerge in the judicial decision...and hold fire on all the endless speculation of "I'm reliably informed ". It doesn't help anyone.

Not guessing,  I know the full story,  just can't say.

  8. Got a phone call from a mate.  He's in invercargill golfing.  Do you want any oysters?  Hell yeah.  How much?

$35 a dozen a grade.  $42 for 2dozen seconds. Ordered 2 dozen a grade.  I normally buy from shop on main south rd hornby.  $50 dozen cooked.

So I just ate a dozen raw in malt vinegar with lots of white pepper.  Very yummy.  A dozen frozen to cook in batter later.

I shout myself a couple of times a season anyway.

From the grapevine, Mango has been stitched up, and those involved know that!!!!

Stitched himself up I'm told.  We have decisions in life,  is this wrong??  Yes it is.

To be fair we do not know both sides of the story!

Maybe just maybe, there was a reason for the hiding, just asking?

The victim is a harmless honest individual I'm reliably told.  Maybe that's why he got the bash.?  Either way we don't need that crap.

Ranga,I'm told Mangos chucked Licenses in before they were stripped off him.

More sad for the innocent victims of his offending.

So what I heard about a year ago are true? I was in Auckland once and we went for brekky at pukekohe. With a trainer when mango walked past. This trainer who has a great sense of humor said,  poor old mango,  he always looks like someone just told him his mum died.  I've never met him.

Think they're trying ideas to sell ROSEHILL Gardens in Sydney.

There's always a 'Money-man involved in every business somewhere who's job it is to come up with Profit making ideas.

The Rosehill Sale would be $5 Billion for ATC and could set 25,000 homes and a school on it .

There's homes and schools 'Everywhere' already for bloody 100km's around Sydney already , so why not keep some fine traditions like the Golden Slipper and popular horse racing and that in place ?. is nothing sacred anymore.

The EAGLE FARM greens Party idea is just a Money-mans wet dream at this stage. The Greens are ZERO chance of getting anywhere near Council majority at our Election in Brisbane this week anyway. just someone spouting 'copy the Rosehill thing' in Dreamland.

Growing up in hei hei I remember the days of riccarton Race course car park was chokka full every Saturday. Many 100s if not thousands. All housing now.

Is it progress ? Or the almighty $$$$
