Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 19, 2023 Journalists Share Posted August 19, 2023 What Bairnsdale Races Where Bairnsdale Racing Club – Racecourse Rd, Bairnsdale VIC 3875 When Monday, August 21, 2023 First Race 1pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes The Bairnsdale Racing Club is the destination for racing in Victoria on Monday afternoon with an eight-race program scheduled. With unseasonably warm weather forecast for Bairnsdale over the weekend and on Monday, we expect the current Soft 7 rating to be closer to a Soft 5 come raceday. The rail sticks to the true position, with racing set to get underway at 1pm AEST. Best Bet at Bairnsdale – Kandyan Our best bet of the day comes up in the final event with Kandyan looking to build on smart start to her career. With a win and two minors to her name, the four-year-old mare looks a touch too good for this BM58 field. Tom Prebble will use his 2kg claim to his advantage and have the Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young-trained runner leading the field up from barrier five. Kandyan looks set to gain and uncontested lead and with just 59,5kg on her back, it is hard to see Kandyan getting run down. Best Bet Race 8 – #1 Kandyan (5) 4yo Mare | T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young | J: Tom Prebble (a2) (61.5kg) $2.70 with Ladbrokes Next Best at Bairnsdale – Mirroring One of better bets at Bairnsdale is Mirroring in the first race, who looks well placed to break maiden ranks at start five. The four-year-old gelding finished third on the Pakenham synthetic last start when gunned down in the shadows of the winning post. The son of Redoute’s Choice draws to gain a perfect run behind the leaders from barrier three. As long as Carleen Hefel has Mirroring in clear air on the home turn, Mirroring should be running away with a first win. Next Best Race 1 – #3 Mirroring (3) 4yo Gelding | T: Robbie Griffiths & Mathew de Kock | J: Carleen Hefel (59.5kg) $2.60 with Dabble Best Value at Bairnsdale – Embolden In the opening leg of the quaddie, we’re confident the Bevan Laming-trained Embolden can bring up a long overdue second career win. The six-year-old gelding hasn’t won in over 10 months, but his last start fourth at Geelong suggests he is more than capable of saluting in this. From barrier one under Jamie Mott, he draws to settle on the leader’s heels and shouldn’t have to exert much energy over the 2200m. If he can lug the 61kg, Embolden should prove a touch too powerful late. Best Value Race 5 – #1 Embolden (1) 6yo Gelding | T: Bevan Laming | J: Jamie Mott (61kg) $7 with Unibet Monday quaddie tips for Bairnsdale Bairnsdale quadrella selections Monday, August 21, 2023 1-3-4-6 1-2-9-10 1-2-7-8-16 1 Investment: $80 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
