What Warwick Farm Races
Where Warwick Farm Racecourse – 2 Hume Hwy, Warwick Farm NSW 2170
When Wednesday, August 30, 2023
First Race 1:25pm AEST

Visit Ladbrokes

Warwick Farm is the destination for NSW racing on Wednesday afternoon, with seven races for punters to sink their teeth into. The rail moves back to the true position for the entire circuit, and with only a small chance of rain predicted for the second half of the program, the course should be rated a Good 4 when racing commences at 1:25pm AEST.

Best Bet: Orzala

Orzala made an impressive return to the track at Newcastle on August 10 and lost no admirers when chasing home Silvanito. She was first-up after a 42-week spell and simply had too much work to do from near last. The John O’Shea-trained mare will be much fitter for that effort, and with a more economical run in transit from barrier four on Wednesday, Orzala should be charging down the middle of the track to score.

Next Best: The Milkybar Kid

The Milkybar Kid is seeking his first win of the preparation after back-to-back minor placings. He led them up at Canterbury over 1900m on August 16, attempting to make every post a winner. The 61kg got the better of him and just faded late. Now, apprentice jockey Amy McLucas takes the reins, giving The Milkybar Kid a valuable 3kg claim. The son of Reliable Man will lead for a majority of the 2200m on Wednesday, and hopefully he can be in front where it matters most.

Next Best Again: Mojave Desert

Mojave Dessert is set to make his return from an 87-day letup after failing to make an impression at Eagle Farm on June 3. Since then, the son of I Am Invincible has been trialling stylishly, securing a jump-out victory at Beaudesert in Queensland before making his way back to Sydney and running behind some quality types at Randwick just three days ago. Mojave Desert looks prepared for a big return, and with James McDonald booked to ride, we’re convinced he can only run well here.
