Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 28, 2023 Journalists Share Posted August 28, 2023 What Sandown Hillside Races Where Sandown Racecourse – 591-659 Princes Hwy, Springvale VIC 3171 When Wednesday, August 30, 2023 First Race 1pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes The Hillside track at Sandown is the destination for midweek metropolitan racing in Victoria on Wednesday afternoon. Eight races are set to be run on a Soft track, with rain forecast for the region on race day. The rail comes out 5m the entire trip, with racing getting underway at 1pm AEST. Best Bet at Sandown: Our Red Morning Our Red Morning has not been seen at the races since July 8 when thrashing a decent field at Caulfield. The four-year-old is a long-striding mare who will only benefit from the long straight at Sandown. This daughter of Redwood gets the services of Craig Williams for the first time and, from barrier four, draws to gain a gorgeous run in transit. Our Red Morning has a dynamic turn of foot, and with even luck, she should be accounting for this BM70 field with relative ease. Best Bet Race 4 – #5 Our Red Morning (4) 4yo Mare | T: Greg Eurell | J: Craig Williams (59.5kg) Bet with PlayUp Next Best at Sandown: Dunalley Dunalley defeated a similar field to this on the Sandown Lakeside track over 1500m on August 16, and stepping up the 1600m on the Hillside track looks perfect. Last time out, the five-year-old mare was forced to settle towards the rear of the field before rounding up her rivals and putting them away. The Dandino mare goes up 1kg following that win, and despite drawing barrier 12, she will be back in the field upon settling and, with a genuine tempo, can finish the better once again. Next Best Race 7 – #2 Dunalley (12) 5yo Mare | T: David Brideoake & Matthew Jenkins | J: Matthew Cartwright (60kg) Bet with Boombet Best Value at Sandown: Russian Summer The Mark & Levi Kavanagh-trained Russian Summer is near impossible to catch, winning once in 11 starts. However, following a tough run at Geelong, he appears to have found the perfect race in which to break his drought. He gave his rivals too much of a start last time out and ran into plenty of backsides when trying to make up ground, yet he finished just two lengths off the winner. He draws barrier six under Craig Williams, and if Russian Summer can hold his current form, he looks a great play in the opening leg of the quaddie. Best Value Race 5 – #9 Russian Summer (6) 4yo Gelding | T: Mark & Levi Kavanagh | J: Craig Williams (58.5kg) Bet with Neds Wednesday quaddie tips for Sandown races Sandown quadrella selections Wednesday, August 30, 2023 2-3-6-9 3-4-6-7 2-10 1-4-8-10-11 Investment: $160 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
