Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 31, 2023 Journalists Share Posted August 31, 2023 What Wyong Cup Day Where Wyong Race Club & Function Centre – 71-73 Howarth St, Wyong NSW 2259 When Friday, September 1, 2023 First Race 12:45pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes We have two Listed events on Friday afternoon as the Wyong Race Club hosts its feature raceday. The $240,000 Wyong Gold Cup (2100m) and Mona Lisa Stakes (1350m) headline the stacked 10-race program. The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit, and with some rain predicted on the radar, look for the surface to have a minor downgrade into the Soft 5 range. The first race on Wyong Cup Day is set to get underway at 12:45pm AEST. Wyong Gold Cup: Bois D’argent Bois D’argent has been a very consistent type since arriving at the Annabel Neasham yard and shouldn’t be far away from finding his second stakes win in Australia. He took out the Lord Mayor’s Cup at Rosehill on May 20 and has since placed twice in quality affairs. His latest effort was a third-place finish behind Hosier in the Group 3 Premier’s Cup. Bois D’argent gets a nice swing in the weights and a much more likeable barrier than he did on August 19, and we think this son of Toronado can turn the tables from last start. Wyong Gold Cup Race 7 – #4 Bois D’argent (1) 6yo Gelding | T: Annabel Neasham | J: Chad Schofield (58kg) $7.50 with Bet365 Mona Lisa Stakes: Olentia Olentia is a short quote heading into Friday afternoon, and it’s easy to see why. The daughter of Zoustar returned for a stylish win at Rosehill on August 12, dismantling her opposition in BM88 company over 1200m. She couldn’t have been more impressive upon resumption, storming over the top of her rivals, and now stepping up to the 1350m looks ideal. She is dual-accepted for the Group 2 Tramway Stakes at Randwick on Saturday, but if Chris Waller elects to come here, Olentia looks extremely hard to beat. Mona Lisa Stakes Race 6 – #2 Olentia (10) 4yo Mare | T: Chris Waller | J: Kerrin McEvoy (58kg) $1.85 with Neds Best Bet: Razors Razors should be looking for his third-straight win of the campaign. He was luckless last start at Hawkesbury on August 17, settling for second place after running into trouble when he was closing strongly behind River Snitty. He stays at the 1300m this time and, importantly, gains the services of James McDonald, showing intent from the James Cummings barn. He’ll be closing off well again, and with a bit more luck throughout the journey, look for Razors to storm over the top late. Best Bet Race 4 – #3 Razors (4) 3yo Gelding | T: James Cummings | J: James McDonald (58kg) $2.50 with Ladbrokes Friday quaddie tips – Wyong Cup Day 2023 Wyong quadrella selections Friday, September 1, 2023 1-4-9-10-11-13 2-6 4-6-7-10-13 1-2-3-8 Investment: $240 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
