Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 4, 2023 Journalists Share Posted September 4, 2023 What Kensington Races Where Royal Randwick Racecourse – Alison Rd, Randwick NSW 2031 When Wednesday, September 6, 2023 First Race 1:25pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes The Kensington circuit at Royal Randwick Racecourse is set to host seven races this Wednesday afternoon, with racing scheduled to get underway at 1:25pm AEST. The rail moves back to the true position for the entire circuit, and with no rain on the forecast, we should be racing on a Good 4 track. We expect that rail to be rather favourable to forward runners, so we’ll be backing horses likely to be ridden positively. Best Bet: Sovereign Fund Sovereign Fund is set to resume from an 87-day spell and has most notably undergone a gelding operation since his fourth-place finish at Randwick on June 10. He was no match for Ozzmosis on that occasion, getting back in the small field and only sticking on to finish 4.7 lengths away. We were taken with his latest barrier trial at Hawkesbury, and the operation seems to have kept his mind on the task. Sovereign Fund gets the services of James McDonald here, and from barrier five, he should get every chance to chalk up career win number three. Best Bet Race 7 – #8 Sovereign Fund (5) 3yo Gelding | T: Peter & Paul Snowden | J: James McDonald (57kg) Bet with Bet365 Next Best: Evelyn May Evelyn May is a three-year-old filly worth following as she makes her return to the track after 15 weeks off the scene. She’s yet to break her maiden status; however, she did end her two-year-old campaign with a second-place finish behind Group 1 JJ Atkins winner King Colorado at Kembla Grange on May 23. Add in two nice tick-over trials, and it is enough to suggest this daughter of Sacred Falls is wound up for a bold showing, so look for Evelyn May to making strong inroads down the middle of the course late. Next Best Race 2 – #11 Evelyn May (4) 3yo Filly | T: John O’Shea | J: Tyler Schiller (56kg) Bet with Neds Next Best Again: Silvanito Silvanito was a dominant winner at Newcastle on August 10 and looks primed for back-to-back victories. He powered through the line over 1200m, making up plenty of ground to score by 1.2 lengths. The step up to 1400m looks ideal for this gelding by Shooting To Win to make a strong impression once again, and although the likes of Ashfall and River Snitty pose a significant threat, we’re hopeful Nash Rawiller can utilise barrier one to give Silvanito the drop on his opposition. Rawiller has the opportunity to track the leader’s back throughout the journey, and if he does, he should take a power of beating. Next Best Again Race 4 – #8 Silvanito (1) 4yo Gelding | T: James Cummings | J: Nash Rawiller (57.5kg) Bet with Palmerbet Wednesday quaddie tips for Kensington races Randwick-Kensington quadrella selections Wednesday, September 6, 2023 2-8-10-14 1-2-4-5-10 4-5-6-10 2-8 | Copy this bet straight to your betslip Latest horse racing news View the full article
