Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 10, 2023 Journalists Posted September 10, 2023 Group 1 winner Place Du Carrousel (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}–Traffic Jam {Ire}, by Duke Of Marmalade {Ire}) made it two group wins on the bounce with a neck victory over Iresine (Fr) (Manduro {Ger}) in the G2 Qatar Prix Foy during Arc Trials weekend at ParisLongchamp. Trained by Andre Fabre, the 4-year-old filly had captured Deauville's G3 Prix Gontaut-Biron in good to soft ground last month and encountered a similar surface here returned to Paris. Second choice at 13-5 behind Bertrand Milliere's G1 Prix Ganay heroine Iresine, the Al Shaqab Racing representative was content to wait behind horses for much of this 12-furlong contest. Given her cue by Mickael Barzalona with less than 400 metres remaining, she soon cruised past Plesant Jane (Fr) (Pivotal {GB}), and bravely withstood the closing charge of Iresine in the dying strides.
