Racing heads to the Moe Racing Club on Tuesday afternoon for a 10-race card kicking off at 12:30pm local time. Following plenty of rain in the region, the track has come up a Heavy 8; however, with some decent weather forecast for Monday and Tuesday, it would be no surprise if we were racing on a Soft 6. Having been out +5m for the last meeting here on August 27, the rail returns to the true position this week.

Best Bet at Moe: Red Duster

When returning from a lengthy spell at Echuca on August 26, this four-year-old mare ran a close second after appearing to peak on her run. From barrier 14, look for Thomas Stockdale to take his mount towards the front of the field, and if he can land outside the lead or in the one-one, Red Duster should be good enough to salute.

Best Bet

Race 3 – silks #12 Red Duster (14)

Next Best at Moe: Cyclone Sally

Stepping back from a Sandown BM70 to a Moe BM64 looks to be the recipe for success for Mick Bell’s Cyclone Sally. The seven-year-old mare is a genuine wet-tracker, so if the course favours those who can handle the sting out of the ground, the big grey will thrive. Craig Newitt will use barrier four to his advantage and have the Puissance De Lune mare leading the field throughout. If Cyclone Sally can kick off the bend, her rivals will struggle to keep up.

Next Best

Race 6 – silks #4 Cyclone Sally (4)

7yo Mare | T: Mick Bell | J: Craig Newitt (60.5kg)

Best Value at Moe: Overhymn

In the third leg of the quaddie, we’re hoping the Shane Nichols-trained Overhymn can bounce back from a poor showing at Donald. The four-year-old was a dominant maiden winner two back when leading throughout on a Heavy 10 at Wodonga. The Overshare mare looks to be the natural leader in this race and should gain an uncontested lead throughout. If that’s the case, Zac Spain can control things from barrier to post.

Best Value

Race 9 – St Malo silks #12 Overhymn (7)

4yo Mare | T: Shane Nichols | J: Zac Spain (58.5kg)
