Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 11, 2023 Journalists Share Posted September 11, 2023 What Canterbury Races Where Canterbury Park Racecourse – King St, Canterbury NSW 2193 When Wednesday, September 13, 2023 First Race 1:25pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Metropolitan racing heads to Canterbury Park Racecourse on Wednesday afternoon with a competitive seven-race program set down for decision. The rail is out +4m the entire circuit, and with an ideal weather forecast in the lead-up, the surface is expected to be a quality Good 4. We’ll be giving a slight advantage to on-speed gallopers throughout the day, which is set to get underway at 1:25pm AEST. Best Bet: Capital Heart Capital Heart has been impressive in two runs back this preparation and looks ready to peak third-up for the John O’Shea barn. The son of Capitalist broke his maiden status first-up at Kembla Grange before being sent to Gosford on August 24, where he was only beaten a half-length by another very progressive sprinter, Stanislaus. The three-year-old gelding was only picked off in the shadows of the post in the Class 1 affair, and with O’Shea confident enough to step up to BM72 company on Wednesday, Capital Heart looks set to make the grade with the light weight on his back. Best Bet Race 7 – #14 Capital Heart (1) 3yo Gelding | T: John O’Shea | J: Zac Lloyd (54.5kg) +400 with Bet365 Next Best: Makarena Makarena was excellent first-up effort at Randwick (Kensington) behind Nadal on August 23. The filly by Snitzel chased home on the inferior inside part of the track on that occasion, closing gamely to go down by 1.4 lengths. The winner has since gone on to find the minor money in last Saturday’s Group 2 Run To The Rose. Makarena will appreciate the extra 150m to chase her opposition, and with Zac Lloyd in the saddle, we expect her to do just that in what looks to be a cracking three-year-old maiden race to open the card. Best Bet Race 1 – #8 Makarena (6) 3yo Filly | T: Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes | J: Zac Lloyd (57kg) -125 with Ladbrokes Best Value: Our Maryanne Our Maryanne will be looking to turn the tables on race rival State Of America after being defeated at Hawkesbury on September 2. She was unlucky from the stalls, missing the start before being ridden up to find a three-wide position throughout the 2000m contest. She should get a much more economical run this time from barrier three, and with a 1kg swing in the weight of her key rival, we should be seeing a much better performance from Our Maryanne on Wednesday afternoon. Best Bet Race 2 – #7 Our Maryanne (3) 4yo Mare | T: Clarry Conners | J: Andrew Adkins (54kg) +750 with PlayUp Wednesday quaddie tips for Canterbury races Canterbury quadrella selections Wednesday, September 13, 2023 1-2-3-7-8-10 1-4-5-8-9-10 2-4-5-8-12 13-14 | Copy this bet straight to your betslip More horse racing tips View the full article
