Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Wednesday's Observations features a daughter of Misty For Me (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

13.15 Punchestown, Mdn, €15,000, 2yo, f, 7fT
GREENFINCH (Justify) is the eighth foal out of the accomplished Misty For Me (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), heroine of four Group 1 races including the Irish 1000 Guineas, and therefore a half-sister to War Front's multiple Group 1-winning duo U S Navy Flag and Roly Poly. Among the Ballydoyle newcomer's peers is Juddmonte's Rising Sign (GB) (Frankel {GB}), a Ger Lyons-trained full-sister to the smart 3-year-old Covey (GB) from the family of Acclamation (GB).

13.45 Punchestown, Mdn, €12,000, 2yo, 8fT
FIGHTER (IRE) (Frankel {GB}) is another Ballydoyle newcomer, this time sporting the Matsushima colours, who adds spice to this card as a half-brother to the G1 Irish Derby hero Trading Leather (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}). He meets nine on his debut in this maiden in which the stable's River Thames (Ire) (Churchill {Ire}) earned TDN Rising Star status two years ago.
