The Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) has lured a field of 16 fillies for the three-year-old feature at Randwick this Saturday afternoon.

This is considered the third leg of the Princess Series, with the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Autumn Ballet quoted at +800 after taking out the first leg in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) on August 19.

The Waterhouse & Bott stable has a strong hand with three more runners engaged on Saturday, including Tropical Squall (+450), Platinum Jubilee (+1800), and Summer Loving (+1900).

The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Tiz Invincible – a +270 favourite with online bookies – will be seeking a third-straight win as she backs up from the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) on September 2, the second leg of the Princess Series.

The likes of Kimochi (+340) and Mumbai Muse (+1500) will be looking to turn the tables with the extra 200m to chase down some key rivals after finding the 1200m slightly short of their best trip.

Some other intriguing gallopers bringing some different form to the event include Miss Joelene (+2600), who makes the trip down from Queensland with leading Brisbane hoop Kyle Wilson-Taylor set to take the ride, and August Bloom (+2000), who was an impressive maiden winner recently at Hawkesbury in a race that has produced many subsequent victors.

The winner of this race will likely go on to compete in the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) on September 30.

The 2023 Tea Rose Stakes is the sixth race on the program this Saturday at Randwick and is set to get underway at 2:50pm AEST.
