Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 14, 2023 Journalists Share Posted September 14, 2023 Richard Jolly is confident his brilliant galloper See You In Heaven can mix it with some of the best mares in the land when she returns to her ‘home away from home’ in Saturday’s Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) at Flemington. After a return win in the G3 Behemoth Stakes (1200m) in Adelaide last month, See You In Heaven was beaten into second by Seonee as the $1.95 favourite in the Leon Macdonald Stakes (1400m) last start. Saturday’s third-up run will be the fifth time in 14 starts that See You In Heaven has raced at Flemington. The daughter of Divine Prophet won the G3 Ottawa Stakes (1000m) down the iconic straight on debut in November 2021 and has since been placed in the Listed Desirable Stakes (1400m) and G3 Vanity Stakes (1400m) at Flemington. Jolly said the four-year-old traditionally improves as she gets deeper into each racing campaign. “We’re happy with her,” Jolly said. “She hasn’t missed a beat since her last start and she worked well this week. “She takes a while to get fit – I know she won first-up but she still blows the house down and we saw last spring that the Sandown Guineas was her best run after she’d had a few under her belt. “I think she’ll keep improving from what you saw the other day. “We probably rode her a bit upside down because of the way the Parks track has been racing, which isn’t ideal.” See You In Heaven is being aimed at the G1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) on Derby Day.
