Facing the standing start tapes for the first time isn’t the main concern Brad Williamson has as Kracka Looka attempts to back up her big debut win at Ascot Park on Friday.

The two-year-old will be out to make it two from two after beating a talented field when beginning her career at Ashburton recently.

Two-year-olds having their first standing start can often be risky propositions for punters.

However, the standing start conditions of race 5 are not the main concern for Williamson.

“She has great manners and I am not too worried about the standing start,” the trainer-driver said.

“Probably the only concern is that she is still learning and she is still green.”

“She has a lot of ability and she will probably end up going further than a few of the horses in this race.”

“But most of them are experienced and she has only had the one race and she was green in it.”

“It will just depend on how she is in the running, if she does things right she should go a nice race.”

Williamson has two of his team going head-to-head in race 7 at Ascot Park.

Tabasco (9) and Classic Mission (2) have contrasting draws which Williamson thinks has them closely matched.

“I would lean slightly towards Tabasco, but Classic Mission could get a nice run from his draw, so there is probably not a lot between them.”

“Tabasco is a horse that is best driven with one run, so it will depend on how far back he gets around a tight track like Ascot Park.”

“He is not one that can be sent around to bully the opposition.”

“He wouldn’t want to be much further back than three back on the outside.”

“From two, Classic Mission is probably going to be a bit handier and if he gets a nice run he should be an each way chance.”

Kerryn Tomlinson takes the reins behind Classic Mission with Williamson to drive both Tabasco and Kracka Looka.
