Cody’s Wish Unwraps Breeders’ Cup Ticket In Vosburgh S.

Snagging a ticket to the GI Breeders' Cup Qatar Racing Sprint next month at Santa Anita, MGISW Cody's Wish (Curlin–Dance Card by Tapit) took home the prize in the 83rd running of the Vosburgh S. on Sunday afternoon at the Big A.

After significant rainfall cancelled racing Friday and Saturday on Long Island, it was all systems go for the Bill Mott trainee. Coming off a third place finish last time out in the GI Whitney H. at Saratoga, the 5-year-old 1-9 choice here broke a touch slow, but got on track up the backstretch as Accretive (Practical Joke) set the tempo. Pulling alongside the pacesetter into the far turn, Cody Wish's matched strides with his rival until he pulled away past the sixteenth pole to win by 1 1/2 lengths.

The final running time was 1:21.83.
