The Brisbane Racing Club will host a massive 10-race card at Eagle Farm Racecourse this Saturday afternoon. The track is rated a Good 4, and with no rain forecast for Friday and Saturday, we expect to be racing on a perfect surface for the whole meeting. The rail will be in the +3m position for the entire circuit, with the opening race set to jump at 11:43am AEST.

Best Bet at Eagle Farm: Shibli

Shibli from the Chris Waller yard will be seeking a hat-trick of wins when he competes in the St Rita’s Cup over 1600m, where he will be the only last-start winner in the field. Last time out, at this track and trip, this son of Muhaarar came from last to run over the top of his rivals. Now that this six-year-old gelding will be having his fourth run of the preparation, he should be at peak fitness. From barrier two, James Orman should be able to settle a little closer to the speed, and if he finds clear air on the home turn, Shibli should be winning again.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Silks#4 Shibli (2)

6yo Gelding | T: Chris Waller | J: James Orman (56kg)

Next Best at Eagle Farm: Lost In Transit

After back-to-back wins at the Sunshine Coast to kick off his campaign, the Stuart Kendrick-trained Lost In Transit was narrowly defeated last start by Hold On Honey in a 1000m No Metro Wins Handicap. This four-year-old gelding has only missed the placings once from his eight career starts, and he is unbeaten over 1200m. This son of Spieth was very strong through the line at his most recent start, so the step up to 1200m should be ideal. From barrier 10, Ryan Maloney should be able to cross the field with the likely leader, Serigala, who is drawn next door. If he can settle outside the leader and kick at the top of the home straight, Lost In Transit should prove very hard to run down.

Next Best

Race 10 – silks#4 Lost In Transit (10)

4yo Gelding | T: Stuart Kendrick | J: Ryan Maloney (58.5kg)

Best Value at Eagle Farm: Aton Of Delight

The Glen Thornton-trained Aton Of Delight was very good two starts back when narrowly beaten by Regal Pom in a Benchmark 70 Handicap while carrying 60kg. At his most recent start, this son of I Am Invincible had to go back from his wide barrier and never got into clear air in the home straight, so we are forgiving him for that. On Saturday, this four-year-old gelding will lock horns with Regal Pom again; however, he will get a 5kg weight swing in his favour. From barrier one, Damien Thornton should be able to settle Aton Of Delight in the box seat and give him all the favours in the running.

Best Value

Race 5 – Silks#10 Aton Of Delight (1)

5yo Gelding | T: Glen Thornton | J: Damien Thornton (53kg)
