Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 24, 2023 Journalists Posted October 24, 2023 Amo Racing's G1 Derby second Mojo Star (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}–Galley (GB), by Zamindar) will stand at Whytemount Stud in Ireland next season. Also second in the G1 St Leger and G1 Gold Cup, the 5-year-old's fee will be announced later. The news was first reported by the Racing Post. Bred by Barbara Prendergast, the bay was a 130,000gns foal at Tattersalls December in 2018, prior to being knocked down for 220,000gns as a Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling. Raced by Amo and trainer Richard Hannon, Mojo Star won at Newbury in his 3-year-old year and retires with a win and five runner-up finishes from nine starts with $739,719 in earnings. A half-brother to stakes winners Cape Magic (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire}) and Portage (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}), with the latter second in the G3 Meld S., Mojo Star is one of 11 foals for his Juddmonte-bred dam. Galley is a daughter of Listed Prix d'Automne winner Dockage (Riverman), herself the granddam to G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe hero and sire Rail Link (GB) (Dansili {GB}) among others.
