Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 14, 2018 Journalists Share Posted October 14, 2018 A refund has been issued on all wagers made on Saturday’s Belmont-Yonkers Pick 4 after it was determined that some wagers were accepted on the sequence after the start of the Harry Harvey International Trot at Yonkers, which was the first leg of the Pick 4 wager. Wagering on the sequence was stopped during the running of the race, with some wagers entering the pool late. While none of the wagers made after the start of the race would have been successful, the tracks determined that the entire pool of $12,409 would be refunded, with players holding winning tickets entitled to their $1,250.75 payout on a $0.50 ticket. Additionally, a Saturday evening Blood-Horse report indicated that at least one bettor encountered a similar issue during NYRA’s Belmont Park-ParisLongchamp Pick 4 conducted Oct. 7. According to the Blood-Horse report, a bettor on TwinSpires.com said he was able to continue wagering on the sequence after the first two legs had already been completed–although NYRA representatives said no additional money entered the pool after late.
