Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 28, 2023 Journalists Share Posted November 28, 2023 What Geelong Races Where Geelong Racecourse – 99 Breakwater Rd, Breakwater VIC 3219 When Thursday, November 30, 2023 First Race 1:30pm AEDT Visit Dabble Horse racing in Victoria heads to Geelong on Thursday afternoon for a competitive eight-race meeting from 1:30pm AEDT. With rain forecast on Wednesday and Thursday, the Soft 5 rating is expected to deteriorate further, and foot traffic on the day won’t help either. The rail comes out 8m from the 1700m–900m and then out 9m for the remainder. Best Bet at Geelong – Mahrez Mahrez has shown enough in his two runs back from a long layoff to suggest he will be ready to strike third-up. He was safely held at Moonee Valley over 1600m last time out, and stepping back from metropolitan grade to a BM64 at Geelong looks ideal. From barrier four, Fred Kersley can have the son of Iffraaj settled on the heels of the leaders, and despite struggling on rain-affected going so far in his career, Mahrez looks to have found the right race. Best Bet Race 8 – #9 Mahrez (4) 5yo Gelding | T: Lindsey Smith | J: Fred Kersley (58kg) Bet with Dabble Next Best at Geelong – Regal Vow First-up from a five-month spell, Regal Vow finished her last campaign with consecutive seconds at Sandown, and a repeat of those performances should be good enough in this. The Swear mare broke her maiden at the Geelong 1340m, and with this being her first run back at the track and trip since then, she gains conditions that suit her perfectly. She will need a touch from barrier two, but if the breaks come her way, Regal Vow should just be winning. Next Best Race 6 – #5 Regal Vow (2) 4yo Mare | T: Charlotte Littlefield | J: Jye McNeil (58kg) Bet with Picklebet Next Best Again at Geelong – Mariner’s Dream The Annabel Neasham-trained Mariner’s Dream has strung together three consecutive placings and now gets his chance to break maiden ranks at start five. The son of Merchant Navy was rolled as an odds-on favourite on the Pakenham synthetic on October 9 over 2200m, where he was left in front a long way out from home and simply couldn’t go with the winner over the final 100m. He steps back to the 1755m and gains the services of the in-form Michael Dee, who will look to have the three-year-old gelding stalking the speed from the one-one position. From there, Mariner’s Dream should prove too good. Next Best Again Race 2 – #5 Mariner’s Dream (12) 3yo Gelding | T: Annabel Neasham | J: Michael Dee (58kg) Bet with Neds Thursday quaddie tips for Geelong races Geelong quadrella selections Thursday, November 30, 2023 1-8-9-12 4-5 1-2-4-5-8 9-12 | Copy this bet straight to your betslip More horse racing tips View the full article
