Place Du Carrousel (Ire) (Lope de Vega {Ire}–Traffic Jam {Ire}, by Duke of Marmalade) added plenty of excitement Saturday when drawing €4,025,000 from Portofino Bloodstock bidding online at the Vente d'Elevage in Deauville. Consigned by Haras de Bouquetot, the 4-year-old filly recorded her most important victory in the G1 Prix de l'Opera. The €260,000 Arqana Deauville yearling purchase hails from the family of G1 Coronation victress Lillie Langtry and Classic heroine Tuesday.
