Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted December 11, 2023 Journalists Posted December 11, 2023 The Goffs December National Hunt sale continued a streak of good economic indicators on the auction calendar with the opening session showing noteworthy increases as the €110,000 price for the top lot (157A, a wildcard entry) was the highest for a NH foal anywhere in 2023. Said lot is a Walk In The Park (Ire) weanling half-brother to Stage Star (Ire) (Fame And Glory {GB}), both out of the classy hurdle mare Sparky May (GB) (Midnight Legend {GB}). He went to Richard Frisby, who had struck earlier for lot 101, a Blue Bresil colt, after a bidding battle despite appearing to bow out at one point. In total, 119 horses sold for a turnover of €1,957,000, up 27 per cent from last season, with an average of €16,446, an increase of eight per cent. The selective market ruled the day, however, as the clearance rate came in at 61 per cent.
