NZRacing
to have the Sunshine Coast meeting today declared as 'abandoned'. A friend had a share in a runner at the meeting and was going to have a bet on it but obviously he couldn't well at least not on the NZ TAB. He said he was just speaking to a stable rep in Brisbane and was told the meeting was not abandoned. He checked a couple of Aussie betting sites and the meeing was open for selling. A while later the Sunshine Coast meeting appeared back on the NZ TAB site and was open but was now under a different meeing number. The meeting was open for Fixed odds betting the previous day for betting. The NZ TAB is currently running a no deduction on your fixed odds price if runners are scratched following the placement of your bet. Due to a heavy 10 track a number of races at the Sunshine Coast meeting were hit hard prior to their 8:30am scrachting deadline time this morning with race 3 hit the hardest dropping from 13 to 3 starters. The details on the no dedutions promo are below. By abandoning the original meeting all bets are refunded which defeats the purpose of the reasons why the no deduction promo was introduced. Quote We’re removing all deductions on fixed odds final field win and place bets right through until the end of Summer (Thursday 29 February 2024)! This means you won’t get your dividend reduced if your selected horse or greyhound wins or places, regardless if one or several other runners in the field are scratched. What you see is what you’ll get. It doesn’t matter if there’s one, two, or even six scratchings from when the market opens right through to the race being run — if you backed a horse to win at $6 and it duly delivers, you will get paid out the full $6. The “no deductions” initiative applies to both New Zealand and international racing By doing this, we’re removing the frustration you might experience when you get less back on a winning bet than you thought you would due to another runner being scratched. I guess they give themselves an out with this clause at the bottom of the promo. But it's not a good look when you have opened a meeting and accept money from your customers and then you change the game rules by advising your customers that the meeting is abandoned but then you open it up again under a new meeting number. I don't have a problem with them changing the conditions but not when a meeting has already been open for selling. Quote TAB may, without limitation, withdraw a customer's eligibility (including both online and in TAB retail venues) for this Promotion at any time. TAB may also cancel this Promotion without notice, or amend the terms and conditions of the Promotion without notice.
Nowornever
Nothing surprises me anymore with the TAB. Not the first time they have used underhand tactics to screw the punters.
Chief Stipe
Mmmm who's running the show?
Bill
15 hours ago, Chief Stipe said: Mmmm who's running the show? I suspect it was because this meeting had 4 extra races added to it following the abandonment of thr Friday night Sunshine Coast meeting. So they had to dump the current meeting and meeting code and create a new one. only a guess
