Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 19, 2024 Journalists Share Posted February 19, 2024 What Sandown Lakeside Races Where Sandown Racecourse – 591-659 Princes Hwy, Springvale VIC 3171 When Wednesday, February 21, 2024 First Race 3:40pm AEDT Visit Dabble Wednesday afternoon brings metropolitan racing back to Sandown’s Lakeside track in Victoria. With a delightful summer’s day on the forecast, the track is tipped to start off in Good 4 track condition with the possibility of an upgrade later in the day. The rail will be positioned 6m out along the entire circuit, with the action set to kick off at 3:40pm AEDT. Best Bet at Sandown: Yosemite Falls In the quaddie opener, the Archie Alexander-trained Yosemite Falls looks poised to bounce back to form as she steps down in company from a competitive Saturday event at Caulfield on February 3. The Dundeel filly simply went too hard out in front and tired to finish midfield, beaten by 2.6 lengths over 1800m. She is a natural frontrunner, and from barrier two, Declan Bates will have no issue finding the rail and dictating terms throughout the 1600m trip. Best Bet Race 5 – #7 Yosemite Falls (2) 3yo Filly | T: Archie Alexander | J: Declan Bates (58kg) Bet with Neds Next Best at Sandown: Lost Lost appeared a touch disappointing on face value first-up at Caulfield, but the Godolphin filly looks to have the right race to bounce back in. The Exceed And Excel progeny rattled off the second-fastest last 600m of the meeting when finishing second, beaten by 1.8 lengths, which suggests her effort was a lot better than the margin might suggest. With strong formlines last campaign, and plenty of upside, it would be a shock if Lost wasn’t finding the winner’s enclosure. Next Best Race 2 – #3 Lost (3) 3yo Filly | T: James Cummings | J: Jamie Kah (57.5kg) Bet with Playup Next Best Again at Sandown: Fury Fury looked hard to beat at Moonee Valley last Friday before being scratched, so it’s easy to stick with him as he gets back to Sandown. The last time he was here, the three-year-old colt put in an eye-catching run to finish third after giving his rivals a big start over 1200m. From barrier seven this time around, if Jordan Childs can land the son of Written Tycoon a pair or two closer to the speed, he has the finishing burst to blouse his rivals. Next Best Again Race 1 – #3 Fury (7) 3yo Colt | T: Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes | J: Jordan Childs (59kg) Bet with Picklebet Sandown Lakeside Wednesday quaddie tips – 21/2/2024 Sandown Lakeside quadrella selections Wednesday, February 21, 2024 6-7 1-2-4-6 Field 1-2-3-5-8-10 | Copy this bet straight to your betslip Horse racing tips View the full article
