Sir Alex Ferguson, Ged Mason and Fred Done's SPIRIT DANCER (GB) (g, 7, Frankel {GB}–Queen's Dream {Ger}, by Oasis Dream {GB}) gilded his Middle Eastern sojourn with a closing victory in the $2-million G2 Howden Neom Turf Cup at King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh on Saturday. The blaze-faced bay stormed past the leaders to win handily, with Japan's Killer Ability (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) taking second for Japan about a half-length back. Calif (Ger) (Areion {Ger}) also made up some late ground to pass stretch leader Luxembourg (Ire) (Camelot {GB}) for third.

A three-race winning streak culminated in York's G3 Strensall S. in August, and two starts later the gelding won the G2 Bahrain International Trophy in November. He was fourth in the G1 Jebel Hatta to Measured Time (GB) (Frankel {GB}) warming up for this on Jan. 26.
