Knowle Racing Stable shelled out €40,000 for the winning Be Sure (Ire) (Camelot {GB}) (lot 5B), the priciest lot at the Auctav February Sale. The three-time winning gelding will start in a 3600-metre hurdle race at Auteuil on Sunday, and will then be sent to trainer Deborah Cole in England.

Miami Du Berlais (Fr) (Martaline {GB}) (lot 2) changed hands for €36,000 on the winning bid of BR Consulting on behalf of Haras de Magouet.

“It's my birthday gift,” explains Patrick Lemarie of lot 2. “I trusted the consigner. I wanted to rejuvenate and improve my broodmares after retiring several of them. Jean-Marc Lucas spoke highly of her. I haven't made the choice of a stallion yet: we will discuss it with Pascal Noue.”

Overall, nine horses found new homes for a gross of €167,000.
