After coming close on a couple of occasions, Du Jour (g, 6, Temple City–Guiltless, by Bernardini) finally broke through to claim a win at the highest level with a dominating performance in the GI Frank E. Kilroe Mile.

In no hurry after the jump, Du Jour watched the race unfold as the frontrunners stepped forward to keep each other honest. All eyes were on Easter (Fr) (Exosphere {Aus}) for the lane rally to the outside, but it was the winner who snuck by on the rail, and whose devastating late kick proved too much for that one to catch late. The 60-1 longshot Ah Jeez (Mendelssohn) was third.

Oh là là!#6 DU JOUR ($8.40) rated towards the back of the field, quickly made up ground on the turn, and showed a devastating turn of foot in the stretch to win Santa Anita's $300,000 G1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile! pic.twitter.com/AaFKC0ANQ6
