The Chris Waller barn has produced a strong hand for the race with four acceptors, including Zougotcha opening as a +320 favourite with online bookmakers after drawing barrier two. She heads into Saturday looking to build on an impressive first-up victory in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) on February 24 where the daughter of Zoustar bolted away from her rivals. Two-time Group 1 winner Tropical Squall is on the second line of betting at +500 after scoring first-up in the Group 1 Surround Stakes (1400m) a two weekends ago. Despite drawing barrier 17, the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained galloper is likely to gain strong market support due to his on-speed style of racing. The trend of last-start winners at the top of the market continues with the Ciaron Maher-trained Semana (+750) rounding out those in single figures, while stablemates Jennilala (+900) and Yonce (+1000) also make the trip from Melbourne to Sydney. The Waller pair of Vienna Princess and Hinged are both solid in the market at +1500 apiece. Meanwhile, the Gary Portelli-trained Kimochi (+1300) brings an element of intrigue to this event as the lightweighted three-year-old takes on the older horses for the first time.
