Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 3, 2018 Journalists Share Posted November 3, 2018 Roy H (6, g, More Than Ready–Elusive Diva, by Elusive Quality), who made the most a torrid early pace, swept to the front turning for home and was clear of his rivals at the wire as he registered his second consecutive victory in the GI Breeders’ Cup Sprint for trainer Peter Miller and Rockingham Ranch and David Bernsen. The owner/trainer combo also teamed up to take the GI Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint with Stormy Liberal earlier on the card. Within striking distance early of the fleet-footed Promised Fulfilled, who ripped through opening fractions of :21.35 and :44.21, Roy H maintained his position until the quarter pole, and launched his rally, while five wide, turning for home. Easily to the front at the head of the lane, Roy H spurted clear as favored Imperial Hint and the slow-starting Whitemore tried to narrow the gap, but it was the defending champ who carried the most momentum late, and rolled home a three length winner. Whitemore got up for second while Imperial Hint rounded out the trifecta. Final time for the six-furlong test was 1:08.24. Lifetime Record: 22-9-5-2, $3,119,765. O-Rockingham Ranch and David Bernsen LLC.; B-Ramona Bass LLC : T-Peter Miller. View the full article
