Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted March 28 Journalists Share Posted March 28 What Doomben Races Where Doomben Racecourse – 75 Hampden St, Ascot QLD 4007 When Saturday, March 30, 2024 First Race 11:38am AEST Visit Dabble Racing will return to Doomben this Saturday afternoon as the Brisbane Racing Club hosts a competitive 10-race card. The track was rated a Heavy 10 at the time of acceptances, but with little to no rain forecast across the weekend, the surface should improve and possibly get into the Soft range by race day. The rail will be in the +1m position for the entire circuit, with racing set to kick off at 11:38am AEST. Best Bet at Doomben: Chinny Boom Chinny Boom will seek back-to-back wins after claiming victory at the Gold Coast over 1100m last start, where the Clinton Taylor-trained mare proved too classy for her rivals on March 9. This four-year-old mare hasn’t finished outside the placings in four starts this preparation, and if she can push forward and hold a position from barrier seven on Saturday, she appears very hard to beat again. With the aid of Cejay Graham’s 1.5kg claim and with no speed drawn inside of her, Chinny Boom will be able to find the rail and attempt to replicate her previous win. Best Bet Race 7 – #4 Chinny Boom (7) 4yo Mare | T: Clinton Taylor | J: Cejay Graham (a1.5) (58.5kg) +100 with PlayUp Next Best at Doomben: Evocator Thanks to an outstanding ride by Tahlia Fenlon, Evocator weaved her way through the pack from the back of the field to win first-up over 1200m at Eagle Farm. The Barry Lockwood-trained gelding will appreciate a rise in distance to 1350m second-up, and with good speed expected in this contest, a similar ride from Fenlon should give him every chance to repeat the dose. This son of Divine Prophet has a good record on Heavy tracks (4:2-1-0), and with the benefit of a run under his belt, Evocator will be one of the strongest late and should prove hard to beat again. Next Best Race 10 – #4 Evocator (10) 5yo Gelding | T: Barry Lockwood | J: Tahlia Fenlon (a3) (60kg) +600 with Neds Best Value at Doomben: Beef Week Princess Beef Week Princess was beaten by a narrow margin last start after travelling three-wide without cover for the entire trip, costing her back-to-back victories after saluting at a massive price at the Gold Coast the start prior. The Daniel Bowen-trained mare is in career-best form this preparation, finishing inside the placings in her last five starts. This daughter of Casino Prince can push forward from barrier 12, as there appears to be no likely leader, and if Samantha Collett can get going before the home turn, Beef Week Princess will give her rivals something to chase in the concluding stages. Best Value Race 4 – #4 Beef Week Princess (12) 6yo Mare | T: Daniel Bowen | J: Samantha Collett (58.5kg) +1500 with Picklebet Saturday quaddie tips for Doomben races Doomben quadrella selections Saturday, March 30, 2024 4-7-13 3-6-12-17 1-8-9-10 4-7-8-22 | Copy this bet straight to your betslip Horse racing tips View the full article
