Thomass
So apprentice jockey HAILEY aboard BILLY LINCOLN throws out the rule book and decides winning at all costs will only give him a piddling 7 days off... 12 strikes, if you please, before the 100M when 5's allowed.. The problem NZTR fails to recognise ...is where restrictions are in place... There MUST be repercussions in order to protect the INTEGRITY of a race outcome.. ESPECIALLY Black type races... Matthew Cameron in the G1 Sistema last year...4 consec strikes...a break...then 3 consec. again When ONE's allowed...now that's CHEATING Which Galop France recognised by reducing strikes to 4 overall and DQ's at 9 We need the same ASAP 2 1
Doomed
There was a winner relegated at Flemington last year for excessive whip use. Can't recall it ever happening here. Perhaps it needs to.

Perhaps it needs to. It was Blake Shinn on a horse that dead heated...and he was well over the allowance so there couldn't be too much arguing that he had to go.. When Matt Cameron won the G1 on LICKETYSPLIT his attitude in the room was appalling.. When asked about his record he said "it's amazing" What bald faced flippancy when G1 Black Type has it's INTEGRITY obliterated with downright CHEATING #integritynzstyle
Thomass
So the adjudicative boffins were OUTRAGED . . . Rarely does a Rider strike their mount so many times in a race. On that basis, the Adjudicative Committee has assessed the 12 strikes as placing Mr Hailey at the high end of culpability. In addition, it is of concern that Mr Hailey breached this Rule at the Auckland Meeting 7 days ago and he does not appear to have learnt any lessons from that breach. Also, his mount, on this occasion, won the race. For these combined factors, there must be an uplift applied to the 5 day suspension starting point. Would Hailey have been so brazen in his cheating if a DQ option was actioned? Ask yourself
