Thursday evening promises another exciting night of racing at Pakenham, with a full card of eight races on the agenda. The track condition is listed as a Soft 5, and the rail position is set out 4m for the entire circuit. The action kicks off at 5:15pm AEST.

Best Bet at Pakenham: Angland

Angland was a dominant debut winner over the Pakenham 1200m on April 4. The three-year-old gelding stalked the speed, and when asked to quicken, he blasted away from his rivals before going on to win by 7.5 lengths. The son of Ace High draws barrier four in a field of seven, and with a similar run in transit, a similar result is expected for Angland in this BM64 affair.

3yo Gelding | T: Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) | J: Beau Mertens (59.5kg)

Next Best at Pakenham: Nodachi

Nodachi has just one win from 10 career starts, but this BM64 might be the easiest assignment of her career. The already Group-placed filly continues to run on strongly from the rear in her races, and with a genuinely run 1400m affair expected, this one sets up perfectly for Nodachi to absorb the pressure and blouse her rivals.

3yo Filly | T: Mathew Ellerton | J: Joe Bowditch (60.5kg)

Next Best Again at Pakenham: Field Of Praise

Field Of Praise has hardly run a poor race of late, but she’s struggled to find the winning post in time. The four-year-old mare has been overpowered in her last two starts at Cranbourne, but Luke Cartwright’s 3kg claim is a massive help in this 1200m BM58. If the pair can find the lead from barrier eight without using up too many carrots, Field Of Praise should prove hard to run down in the closer.

Next Best Again

Race 8 – Field Of Praise Pakenham betting Silks#1 Field Of Praise (8)

4yo Mare | T: Ben, Will & JD Hayes | J: Luke Cartwrgiht (a3) (62kg)
