Victorian horse racing is back at the Sale Turf Club this Sunday afternoon for an eight-race lineup. The forecast promises a flawless autumn day, and with a Soft 5 track and the rail out 3m, optimal racing conditions are all but guaranteed. The action at Sale kicks off at 1pm AEST.

Best Bet at Sale: King’s Capital

Former Hong Kong galloper King’s Capital has found a new lease on life since arriving in Victoria, with a win and a second to his name from three starts. The seven-year-old gelding proved too classy at Geelong and Ballarat when racing on speed an offering a nice kick when asked for the ultimate effort. Daniel Stackhouse sticks on board, and with a bit of speed drawn underneath, the pair should land in the one-one and stalk the lead before disposing of his rivals in this 1728m BM64.

Best Bet

Race 6 – King's Capital Silks#3 King’s Capital (10)

7yo Gelding | T: Ben, Will & JD Hayes | J: Daniel Stackhouse (61.5kg)

Next Best at Sale: A Book Of Days

A Book Of Days has been racing well without winning in his four career starts. Last time out at Bendigo, the son of Written By was slightly held up when building momentum and went down by a half-length. Luke Nolen will likely settle in the one-one, and outside of any bad luck, this bloke should relish the step up to 1400m and prove too hard to hold out this time.

Next Best

Race 4 – A Book Of Days Silks#1 A Book Of Days (11)

3yo Gelding | T: Ben, Will & JD Hayes | J: Luke Nolen (59.5kg)

Best Value at Sale: Disco Prince

Despite putting in a stinker at Pakenham as an odds-on favourite last time out, Disco Prince can find winning form in the Sale opener. The three-year-old gelding caught the eye on debut at Ballarat on March 24 when making up a stack of ground from beyond midfield, but being ridden more positively seemed to bring him undone at Pakenham. Jamie Mott will likely have the son of Justify settled towards the rear, and if he can replicate the finish he produced on debut, Disco Prince looks the goods.

Best Value

Race 1 – Disco Prince Silks#1 Disco Prince (5)

3yo Gelding | T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young | J: Jamie Mott (59.5kg)
