Let go at odds of nearly 9-1, a healthy mutuel for any runner sent out by trainer Chad Brown, Klaravich Stables' DYNAMIC PRICING (IRE) (f, 3, Night of Thunder {Ire}–Shemda {Ire}, by Dutch Art {GB}) came calling for the lead inside the final 100 yards and ran down Way to Be Marie (Not This Time) to win Friday's GII Edgewood S. at Churchill Downs. Drawn two from the outside in a field of 11, the 170,000gns Tattersalls October yearling acquisition settled in midfield, three deep into the first turn, but with cover on the back of Way to Be Marie as longshot Maxisuperfly (Optimizer) cut out a decent pace. Continuing to allow Way to Be Marie to break the wind just ahead of her, Dynamic Pricing was pulled off heels in upper stretch, but Way to Be Marie had gotten the jump and looked on her way to victory. But Dynamic Pricing was kept after by Irad Ortiz, Jr. and took command in the dying strides to become the 44th worldwide stakes winner and 23rd group/graded winner for her sire (by Dubawi {Ire}). Dancing N Dixie (Neolithic) stormed down the middle of the course to finish third. It was–remarkably–a first victory in the Edgewood for Brown. Sales history: 170,000gns Ylg '22 TATOCT.
