Sire Instilled Regard Collects First Winner With La Marinera At Churchill

With a steady rain coming down at Churchill Downs, La Marinera (Instilled Regard–Curlin Supreme, by Curlin) beat the boys and delivered a first win to his sire on Sunday afternoon.

The juvenile tracked just off of Coming in Hot (Maclean's Music) up the backstretch, but when it was time to make her move around the far turn she responded. Powering down the lane, the filly won by a length over a late-running Strummin (Flameaway).

The final running time was :59.97.

Instilled Regard has 50 foals of racing age to his credit.
