Photo: Trish Dunell James McDonald has withdrawn from his scheduled rides at the final Group 1 meeting of the season at Eagle Farm on Saturday due to illness. He was admitted to Randwick’s Prince Of Wales Hospital on Wednesday night after voluntarily standing down from riding at Warwick Farm earlier in the week due to stomach pain. Hospital tests revealed he has gallstones, and after further assessment, he was discharged on Thursday night. McDonald was slated to ride in seven races at Eagle Farm, including C’est Magique, trained by Chris Waller, in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m). 2024 Tattersall’s Tiara field 1.
