The dictionary definition of 'game' and armed with a knack for good timing, Book'em Danno (g, 3, Bucchero–Adorabella, by Ghostzapper) provided fans and backers with an unexpected thriller in the Jersey Shore Stakes.

He was well off the lead this time as the short field disputed the issue amongst themselves, and had to overcome traffic through the far turn, but overcome he did. The Grade I-winner ran down Little Ni (Mo Town) in the final strides to win the Jersey Shore Stakes by the shortest of margins. Buccherino (Bucchero) got up to claim third to give the sire two of the top three placings.

Book'em Danno was last seen holding off a hard-charging Prince of Monaco (Speightstown) in the GI Woody Stephens Stakes at Saratoga June 8 during the Belmont Stakes festival.
