Group One Signed Silks to be Auctioned to Support Amanda Higgins

NZTR would like to present the unique opportunity to own a wonderful piece of racing memorabilia while supporting a very special cause.

Up for auction are a set of LOVERACING.NZ silks, signed by all Group 1 winning jockeys from the 2023-24 season, making them a cherished collector's item for any racing enthusiast.

The black silks are signed by some of our industry greats, including Opie Bosson, Matthew Cameron, Vinnie Colgan, Joe Doyle, Ryan Elliot, Craig Grylls, Warren Kennedy, Wiremu Pinn and Sam Spratt.

All proceeds from the auction will go directly to support Amanda Higgins, a much-loved thoroughbred racehorse trainer from the South Island who has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer, as well as support Amanda's family who include her husband Stuart, 16-year-old twin sons Kaydence and Rylie, and 3-year-old daughter Lizzie.

More information regarding the gavelhouse.com auction can be found here.

Potential buyers must be registered with gavelhouse.com to bid, with the auction now open for bidding until Monday 5th August (8pm).

A very special thank you to Peter Rubery of Race Images NZ for his generous support with this auction item.

Pardon my ignorance.  I thought Stuart rode over fences.  Did Amanda race ride too?  I hope she gets to spend some quality time with her family.  We bitch and moan about the racing fraternity but, you'd have to be proud of how everyone has rallied around to raise some much needed funds.  Well done.  Thoughts with Amanda and her young family.
