Jockey Daniel Stackhouse has been stood down in rare circumstances at Sandown on Wednesday after losing multiple teeth in a mounting yard incident. Stackhouse was parading aboard Athanatos prior to race one, when the even money favourite threw his head back and caught the rider flush in the face. Stackhouse brushed off the incident initially and went to the barriers in a bid to ride the Phillip Stokes-trained galloper, before being assessed at the gates and stood down by medical staff.
