Godolphin homebred IMMERSIVE (f, 2, Nyquist–Gap Year, by Bernardini) sprung the upset Saturday, taking the GI Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga as rain poured down on a track officially rated as good. Breaking from the rail under Manny Franco, the 12-1 shot came from off the pace and closed stoutly down the outside to just get by 'TDN Rising Star' and race favorite Quietside (Malibu Moon). The Queens M G (Thousand Words), looking for the sweep of the 2-year-old filly stakes at the Spa, was prominent early but was no factor in the stretch run and faded out of contention. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0.
