Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 1, 2024 Journalists Posted September 1, 2024 Earning a Boy Scout bugle merit badge is one of the toughest to collect and so is winning a dirt race from way off it. In his Sunday debut at Del Mar, the 'TDN Insighted' Bullard (Gun Runner–Reve d'Amour, by Warrior's Reward) sounded his bugle and charged home to graduate, which earned the 2-year-old a 'TDN Rising Star' merit badge for his effort. Not so swift out of the gate, the colt trailed as favorite Kalea Bay (Authentic) carved out the fractions. Not willing to accept defeat, Bullard rolled around the far turn, got clear to the outside and set his sights on the pacesetter. His massive kick down the lane was strong and he got the money. The final running time was 1:10.32. This was the 15th 'TDN Rising Star' for the accomplished Gun Runner. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0. Sales History: $675,000 '23 KEESEP.
