(Photo by Pat Scala/Racing Photos) Pride Of Jenni and Mr Brightside are set to renew their rivalry in Friday’s Group 2 Feehan Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley, with trainer Ciaron Maher confirming that his star mare will run as long as there isn’t significant rainfall. “Very happy, she’s come on. Providing it doesn’t rain too much – we’ll see how that plays out – but she’s certainly ready to go,” Maher told Racing.com. “Dec (Bates) worked her this morning, and she’s in great order.” Pride Of Jenni has finished behind Lindsay Park’s Mr Brightside in their last two meetings, placing fifth in last month’s Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) and finishing second behind him in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m). However, Maher remains optimistic. “Hopefully we can turn the tables. She’s certainly shown she’s still on the improve,” he added. “The grand final is the King Charles, that’s been her target. It’s a week back-up to the Cox Plate, which she’ll do providing everything goes well.” Horse racing news View the full article
