One of two Chad Brown runners in the field, the GIII With Anticipation winner ZULU KINGDOM (IRE) (c, 2, Ten Sovereigns {Ire}–Zindziswa, by Smart Strike) went off favored at 4-5 and just lasted over the charging maiden Noble Confessor (Uncle Mo) to win the GII Pilgrim Stakes at Aqueduct and punch his ticket into the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. Marred in traffic up the backstretch in a field that stayed tightly grouped, Zulu Kingdom had to angle out under Joel Rosario and come running over a turf course listed as yielding. While he looked home free, Noble Confessor flew up the rail and made things tight on the wire but ultimately had to settle for second. Lifetime Record: 3-3-0-0.

O-Madaket Stables LLC, Dubb, Michael, Strauss, William and Caruso, Michael J.; B-Ecurie Peregrine SAS; T-Chad Brown.
