Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 29, 2024 Journalists Posted September 29, 2024 In the GII Zenyatta Stakes at Santa Anita it was Sugar Fish (Accelerate–Madiera Park, by Langfuhr) who saved her best stride for the stretch and took home her second piece of graded Arcadian hardware. The 3-year-old filly at odds of 5-2 allowed Alpha Bella (Justify) to take control as the field headed into the first turn. On hold up the backstretch, Sugar Fish had plenty left in reserve and as the pacesetter tried to seal the deal the chestnut responded around the far turn. With the rail open down the lane, the Keeneland September grad powered home under Tyler Baze for the win. The final running time was 1:43.53. Lifetime Record: 8-4-1-0.
